Whether you're new to the field or already have some experience, this program will explore the key standards and symbols essential for a comprehensive grasp of these critical systems, enabling you to read and better understand electrical services plans.

This course will cover the following modules relevant to electrical building services

- Summary of the key requirements from the NCC and the referenced Australian Standards
- Explanation of the key electrical systems for a mixed-use building
- Explanation of the standard symbols used in an electrical design package for each respective service
- Review of a completed design
- Clash detection case study

- Comprehend the role of electrical building services and their designs within the project lifecycle and recognising their importance in achieving project goals and objectives
- Understand the hierarchy of Australian Standards applicable to electrical building services and their integration with the National Construction Code (NCC)
- Identify key electrical systems within building services designs used in various building types and anticipate how these systems may interact
- Comprehend the symbols, schematics, references, and abbreviations used in electrical design documents for each respective building service
- Effectively identify potential errors, omissions or clashes during the building design process
- Engage confidently with professionals throughout the project lifecycle
- Develop a deeper understanding of building services engineers’ proposals, estimates, and quotes and negotiate with greater confidence
